Student Loans For Students With No Credit

from:

The importance of a college education cannot be underestimated. The federal government has realized that without a college degree, many people will struggle to make ends meet and lead a productive life. With the goal of making a college degree attainable for everyone, the federal government offers non credit based student loans. These are loans that a student applies for and, assuming they meet the criteria, they will be granted the loan, with no credit check, for themselves or their parents.

The criteria for a non credit based student loan typically involves income. Most of these student loans are need based. To find out if you qualify, you must complete a FAFSA form. This form is returned to the federal government, who will then let you know which loans you qualify for.

Once you have graduated from college, you must being to repay these non credit based loans. Typically you will have some time after college, up to a year, before payments become due. There are also ways to defer your payment for a longer period of time, or cut down on the amount of money that you are required to repay. Members of the military can erase their debt, and some types of federally approved community service projects can reduce your debt in these types of loans.

When you begin to repay your non credit based loan, you may want to consider a consolidation loan. A consolidation loan allows you to consolidate the various loans that you have taken out over the course of your schooling into one loan. Once you have the loan consolidated, you can extend the length of time that you have for repayment. The purpose of this loan consolidation is to make it easier for you to repay the loan. The federal government understands that many people just out of college do not make a lot of money, and repaying a handful of loans at once can be difficult. By rolling all of this debt into one loan, you will be able to stretch you payment out and better manage your account.
